Signs It's the Main Line, Not Just One Sink
One slow sink is usually a local clog. When the trouble shows up in more than one place, the main sewer line is the likely cause, and it needs a plumber before it backs up into the house.
Drain backed up right now? We answer 24/7.
Call (770) 474-5555How We Clear It: Snaking, Hydro Jetting & Sewer Camera Inspection
We find where the clog sits, pick the tool that fits that pipe, and run water to prove it flows before we leave.
Snaking (Cable & Auger)
A cable sized to the pipe cuts through hair, wipes, paper and grease. The quick fix for a single sink, tub, toilet or floor drain.
Hydro Jetting
High-pressure water scours grease, scale and roots off the pipe walls. The strong fix for kitchen lines and mains that keep clogging.
Sewer Camera Inspection
A camera goes down the line so you see roots, offset joints, sags or broken pipe on video, and get a straight answer instead of a guess.
Main Sewer Line Clearing
We clear the main through the cleanout or roof vent. Line damaged? Our sewer repair team takes it from there.
Kitchen, Bath & Toilet Clogs
Kitchen grease, shower hair and toilet clogs that a plunger will not move. For other fixes, see plumbing repair.
Emergency Drain Backups
Sewage on the floor or a backed-up toilet at midnight? Our licensed plumbers answer 24/7 at (770) 474-5555.
Why Atlanta Drains Clog
Atlanta's older homes, big trees and red clay are hard on sewer lines. Here is what we find most often:
- Old clay and cast-iron laterals. Many intown homes built from the 1920s to 1960s, in Grant Park, Kirkwood, East Atlanta, Virginia-Highland and Inman Park, still have them, and some mid-century homes have Orangeburg pipe.
- Tree roots. Atlanta's dense oak and sweetgum canopy sends roots into pipe joints.
- Red clay. It swells when wet and shrinks when dry, shifting pipe into offsets and low spots (bellies) where waste settles.
- Heavy rain. About 50 inches a year, and summer storms can turn a partial clog into a backup.
- Grease. Busy kitchens in Midtown and Old Fourth Ward condos send a lot of grease down shared lines.

Is hydro jetting safe for old pipes?
Usually, yes, but we check first. We run a camera down the line before we jet. If old clay, cast-iron or Orangeburg pipe is cracked or collapsing, jetting could make it worse, so we clear it with a cable instead and walk you through repair options.
Do I need a camera inspection?
Not for a single slow sink. We recommend one when a line keeps clogging, when several drains back up together, or before you buy an older Atlanta home. The video shows roots, sags and broken pipe, so you know the cause.
Who is responsible for a sewer backup, me or the city?
Inside Atlanta city limits, the City of Atlanta says the property owner maintains and repairs the entire sewer service lateral, the pipe from the house to the city sewer, including the connection. The city takes care of the public sewer main. Not sure where the trouble is? We can camera the line and find out.
Can you come tonight?
Yes. We answer 24/7, nights and weekends included. Call (770) 474-5555 any time a drain backs up.
How much does drain cleaning cost in Atlanta?
It depends on the line and how it is blocked. A single sink or tub costs less than a main sewer line. Either way, you approve an upfront flat-rate price in writing before we start.
