Atlanta Whole House Repipe: Everything Your Home Needs

Full-service whole-home repiping for Metro Atlanta houses, done in days not weeks with complete drywall restoration and a written warranty.

Reliable, Licensed Atlanta Repipe Specialists, Backed by a Warranty

Our background-checked Atlanta repipe crews arrive on time, lay down floor protection before they unload tools, and explain every cut and run before they make it. No surprise charges. No half-finished walls. Just honest whole-home repipe work from a company Metro Atlanta homeowners have trusted since 1974.

Polybutylene supply lines installed in the 1980s and early 1990s are reaching the end of their service life across Metro Atlanta, and galvanized steel from earlier decades is choking water flow in older Decatur, East Atlanta, and Sandy Springs homes. We identify what is in your walls during the free in-home assessment, then walk you through PEX vs copper, the timeline, the drywall scope, and the written warranty before you commit to anything.

The estimate is flat rate and itemized in writing, so you see material, labor, permits, drywall patching, and any extras line by line. Financing is available for larger jobs. Our plumbers are licensed in Georgia (J102723 and MP209550), drug-tested, and trained on PEX manifold systems, copper sweat joints, and the freeze-protection details that matter in Atlanta winters. That is what fifty-plus years of doing this work has taught us: explain it, price it, do it right, and stand behind it.

Whole House Repipe Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about whole house repipes and plumbing services at Delta Plumbing.

How do I know my Atlanta home needs a whole house repipe?

A few signs point to the pipes themselves rather than a single fixture. Repeated leaks in different parts of the house, brown or rusty water at multiple faucets, low water pressure throughout the home, visible pipe corrosion, and a documented polybutylene or galvanized system are the big ones. If you are patching a different leak every few months, the pipes themselves are failing and patches will keep coming. That is the point where a repipe usually costs less than another year of emergency calls.

What is polybutylene, and why is it a problem?

Polybutylene is a gray plastic supply line installed in many homes built between roughly 1978 and 1995. It degrades from the inside out when exposed to standard chlorinated municipal water, and the failures are sudden, not gradual. Connectors crack, fittings split, and the leaks tend to be in walls or ceilings where you do not see them until damage is done. Most insurers have stopped covering polybutylene-related claims. If your home has it, we recommend replacement before it fails.

Should I choose PEX or copper for my repipe?

Both work well in Atlanta homes, and the right answer depends on your priorities. PEX is flexible, freeze-resistant, faster to install, and usually less expensive. Copper has a longer expected lifespan, holds up to higher water temperatures, and tends to carry more weight at resale. For most homeowners, PEX is the cost-effective long-term choice. For homeowners planning to sell within 10 years or who want the maximum-life option, copper makes sense. We walk through the trade-offs in writing during the estimate.

How long does a whole house repipe take?

Most single-family Atlanta repipes run 1 to 5 days from start to finish. A 2-bath, 1,800 square foot ranch on slab usually finishes in 2 days. A 4-bath, 3,500 square foot two-story with multiple zones runs closer to 4 to 5. Drywall patching adds another 1 to 2 days. We give you a written timeline as part of the estimate so you know exactly what to plan for.

Can I live in my home during the repipe?

Yes, in most cases. We isolate the work zone by zone so you have water access for most of the project, with short controlled shutoffs while we tie in the new lines. Most homeowners stay in the house the whole time. If your home only has one bathroom, we work around your morning and evening routines or stage the project so the bathroom comes back online first.

How much does whole house repipe cost in Atlanta?

Pricing depends on home size, number of fixtures, wall and ceiling accessibility, material choice (PEX vs copper), and the amount of drywall repair needed. We give you a flat-rate written estimate after a free in-home assessment. The estimate itemizes material, labor, permits, drywall patching, and any extras, so there are no surprises. Financing is available and we will lay out monthly payment options if that helps.

Do you patch the drywall after the repipe?

Yes. Drywall patching is included in every repipe estimate by default, so you are not left with open walls and a separate contractor to chase. The patches are taped, mudded, sanded, and primed, ready for paint. Texture matching on knockdown, orange peel, or smooth finishes is part of the standard scope. We do not paint, but we leave the surface paint-ready.

Will repiping fix my low water pressure?

In most cases, yes. Internal corrosion in galvanized steel pipes narrows the line and chokes flow at every fixture downstream. Replacing those lines with full-bore PEX or copper restores designed flow rates immediately. If your home has a pressure problem caused by a failed pressure reducing valve, a partially closed main shutoff, or municipal supply issues, we identify that during the assessment so a repipe is not solving the wrong problem.

How do I schedule a repipe estimate?

Call (770) 474-5555 or book online at deltaplumbingatlanta.com/schedule-service. The in-home assessment takes 2 to 4 hours and includes pipe material ID, pressure testing at multiple fixtures, leak detection if needed, and a written flat-rate estimate before we leave. There is no obligation and no pressure to commit on the spot.
